Latest News on William’s Artistic Journey:

  • On The Town Workshop with Neurodivergent Artists: In collaboration with Grey Area Theatre, William is leading an R&D workshop for On The Town, a groundbreaking initiative that champions neurodiverse voices in the arts.
  • Directing and Choreographing Tinderella: Recently appointed as Director and Choreographer, William will helm the production of Tinderella at Manchester’s celebrated Hope Mill Theatre. Following a successful UK tour that played to sold-out audiences, Tinderella garnered William his fourth Offie nomination for Best Choreographer, making him the second most nominated choreographer in Offie history.
  • Vaults Festival: Every Man A King: William is set to bring Every Man A King, a New Orleans jazz fable, to life at the Vaults Festival. With a creative team spread across New York, New Orleans, and London, this ambitious production will celebrate jazz culture and storytelling in an immersive setting.
  • Young Vic’s Fresh Direction Cohort: William is currently honing his directorial craft as part of the Young Vic's prestigious Fresh Direction Cohort for 2023-24, joining a select group of emerging talents dedicated to innovative theater-making.
  • Acclaim for Grindr the Opera: Directed and choreographed by William, the latest production of Grindr the Opera has garnered critical acclaim with eight 5-star reviews and five Offie nominations, including Best Choreography/Movement.
  • My Sister Is Missing: Directed by Georgie Rankcom, this production recently opened at the King’s Head Theatre to critical praise, showcasing a compelling narrative.
  • Channel 4 Short Film Un(fit) to Work: William contributed dance improvisation and appeared in the short film Un(fit) to Work, now featured at the BFI Film Festival and available for streaming on All4.

William trained at Bird College and as an intern/student ambassador to the McOnie Company. Alongside this, he has had the pleasure of working as an assistant with West End and internationally renowned creatives such as Carole Todd, Nick Winston, Steven Dexter and Summer Strallen. Over the last year, he has been two time Offie nominated for Best Choreographer as a result of his work on [Title of Show] and Boy Toy. The latter being his original all male narrative ballet based on Coppélia, which is due to receive a subsequent production in Edinburgh this year.

Other choreographic and directorial credits include: Next Thing You Know, Frostbite, Gradfest’s Showcase, Black Magic Woman, Queereteria TV, Diary of a W*nky Actor and the cabaret show Cut Before Curtain Up. Assistant choreographer/director credits include the following Offie nominated productions: Pippin, Romance Romance, Musical of Musicals (The Musical!), along with Naked Boys Singing, Mother Goose and Cynthia’s Girls (for prestigious producer Paul Nicholas).

 

William aims to use dance as an increasingly accessible art form and to revive its historic position as the forefront of storytelling. Having worked internationally as a performer he wishes to continue this as a creative, bringing quality theatre to everyone through the inclusive means of non verbal communication. He wishes to unite audiences through relatable content and champion the theatre as a universally moving and enjoyable experience. His ambition is to collaborate further with students, artists and creatives within London’s conservatoires, its fringe and its prestigious West End.
